heat problems...

my truck has decent heat when it warms up. but for some reason it always blows out of defrost, drivers side vent, a little on the passenger side, but none from the middle of the dash. most of the heat comes out of the drivers side vent. but some does come out of the others that i mentioned just not as much. and it doesnt matter what you switch it to it always comes out of those vents. i havent tried checking out the cause because i have bigger concerns at the moment. has anyone else had this problem? or what you have done to fix it? any help would be appreciated. thanks

sub'd as mine does something similar to this too, I chalked mine up to some of the sliders broken in the dash that move the directional valves around behind the dash.

Although I have all dash vents working, defrost working just not the floor.

Pull the dash, get behind the the compartment that the levers are in. See if there is a loose cable housing (or loose cable). There are these really cheesy cable stops made of plastic that the cable housing is supposed to snap into, but they get worn out and housing pops out. If that looks ok, then you're going to need to check vents themselves and see if the cable is loose on that end.

This happened on my 91, and I couldn't get the fresh air vent closed. It took some krazy glue to set things right with the loose cable housing. Kind of a pain, but the dash actually goes on faster than it comes off.
