Fuel lines

Hello all. New to the site and looking for some advice. I recently bought a low mileage 85 pickup and I believe the fuel lines, return and feed, might be crossed. Which lines are wich at the mechanical fuel pump? It has a carb by the way.

Thank you. Another question....which hard line, on the side of the engine, should be the feed line and which should be the return. Someone has been replacing things on this truck that wasn't too sure of what they needed. He ran it low on fuel and it started quiting after running for a few minutes. Looks like a new fuel pump and a reman carb. The plug wires were all one hole off in the distributor. This isn't my first toyota experience. I had an 87 that I rebuilt the carb on and the engine. Just looking for some good advice from experienced guys.

That's what I wanted to make sure. Thank you!
I'll get pics soon. Pretty sure that they were reversed. I changed them already. I got suspicious when I unscrewed the fuel cap and it had air pressure on it from just turning the engine over several times. The vent may also be clogged. I believe I have a cheap/weak pump also. Got to dig into it, just have a LOT of things going on....
