Not sure if anyone has seen/dealt with this problem before. I have an 85 4x4 pickup SR5 with a fuel guage that doesnt hold steady, drops lower, and bounces back to actual fuel amount in the tank. So it doesnt go higher but drops lower and bounces back. Its hard to know what the actual amount of fuel is because it doesnt hold steady. Also, this only happens when I am driving and not in idle mode. The rest of the indicators are working fine. Any ideas?

 

my 85 4runner does the same thing
