Engine is nothing to look at. It needs to be detailed which may happen later this year.

Interior is mostly stock, a few changes. Kenwood stereo, factory SR5 seats in VERY good condition, factory sunroof (and I finally got the interior cover for it!), switched over to LED dash lights, water temp and oil pressure gauges on the A-pillar.

In 1985 this thing was loaded with most every option except auto. However, when I rebuilt it I decided I wanted to ditch the carpet and go with vinyl floor as you'll see in the pics below:

Ha! Now that's FUNNY!

Funny thing is, when I bought it I was going to build a trail rig. It was all coming together pretty well; solid frame, ran good, nicely optioned. So when it came time to get rid of the sheetmetal rust and get it painted is when it took a different course.

I got new front fenders and a new hood. One rear quarter was solid (replaced before I bought it, still had Toyota part number/sticker on the inside of it!), other rear quarter was pretty rusty, so I found a solid used one and had it cut and welded in. Body was looking better.

Since it was factory black (as much as I DIDN'T want black!) I decided it would go back that way. I didn't want a fancy high dollar paint job because I didn't want to be afraid to drag a tree limb down the side of it, I just wanted decent black paint.

Well, the painter I finally settled on went NUTS! He really wanted to show me how good he was, so off he went. The time he spent prepping, lining body panels, etc. really shows. So not that I'm complaining, but he so completely exceeded my expectations it's not funny. I cruise around in Tyrone now, but I doubt he'll be dragging limbs in the woods anytime soon!

Thanks man, I appreciate it. As for your 91, there is no bad generation 4runner. We've got a 1st gen and 3rd gen, so I'm trying to talk the wife into a black 2nd gen!

Not that you can't imagine what it looks like, but I'll get some topless pics soon.

I'm not very good with my black paint. It looks like I wash it with steel wool.

What kind and color of bulbs did you use in the dash? It looks great. I love vinyl floor mats. I have them in my 1st gen. They remind me of my great aunt's '53 Ford.

Black paint is kind of my specialty. I owned a detail shop years ago when I was a yound man, I still detail on alot of my days off. So keeping my personal vehicles looking sharp is just good advertisement!

As for the LED's, I'd have to look for the receipts to give you the details. I know I got them from superbrightleds.com, but I'm not sure on the exact color.

I know what you mean about the vinyl, super easy cleanup and looks nice.
