Extra cab tacoma body on 85 Longbed frame???

Anyone ever see a tacoma cab/bed on a straight axle 85 frame? I got a 85 toyota Longbed that I wanna put a tacoma body on, extra cab tacoma wheel base is 121 mines 112 I believe, so if I bob the bed on the front half it'll line up but I'm wondering if there are any other issues Id run into, like firewall to motor or excess frame somewhere. Also wondering how much space is in front of the wheel well on the bed cause bobbing it that much could make it look funny so if someone with a tacoma could measure theirs that'd be awesome. Pretty much lookin for any input on this. Lookin for it to be a winter project. Think it'd make a pretty badass toy.

none of the body mounts would line up so youd be fabbing that, then you would have the make sure your trans shifters lined up in the cab , too much work to make it look right, youde be better off SAS'ing a tacoma....

Well I have access to a cab and bed in trade for some labor, plus have a fab shop so the fab work I'm not worried about. I don't got the money to buy a tacoma and do that or I deffinately would.

there was a guy on ttora that did it but his turned out to be a hack job and he deleted all the pics. I am pretty sure I saved a pic but photobucket is down right now for maintenance. send me a pm if you want to remind me to look later for the pic.

Red face

You have a Fab Shop and can`t afford to buy a Tacoma you have to be kidding us. Just what is your shop rate??

Now if your doing this body swap out of complete boredom and to keep you away from the wife. I really understand!!!

Because the amount of time spent doing this if it was billable labor would well exceed the cost of a Tacoma.

This is just one of those things the major things are easy it is the little ones that really soak up the hours.

What engine are you going with?

Merging of the cab harness with the engine harness. The fuel and brake lines.

I am sure with a Fab shop you have both a crane and a forklift so the fitting of things wont be to bad .

So much easier to Do the SAS on a Tacoma
