Exhaust Header

Ok, I'm excited.. Its been a while since I have driven my pickup due to a head gasket. I'm finally on the road home to finishing the job but I ran into a small bump. When I took the header off, I didn't really pull it off, i just unbolted it from the head and let it hang with the pipes.

Now, does anyone have any tips for putting it back onto the head? I lifted and tried to get it on but it's getting hung on the studs in the head.

I was going to remove the header from the pipes, but I didn't have a deep 14mm to get to those bolts, and I'm sure they are tighter than a mouses ear.

it's a lot easier to just unbolt it. besides, you'll always have an excuse to buy a new socket. FYI, some systems have a ring that bolts the down pipe to the side of the tranny. if that is still bolted up it will seriously impair your movement. I would try that first, come to think of it. un-bolt the down pipe from the tranny if it is still bolted up, and if that doesn't work, buy the 14mm socket and a couple of donut gaskets. All in all you'll only spend a few bucks.
