ok so i have an 85 toyota 22r and i Am putting a header on it but when i took the heatshield off the manifold i noticed that there are 3 tubes that bolt to the Exhaust manifold and run Behind the engine.

MY Question is What are they for? were do they run to? and how do i remove them and do i have to plug anything after i remove them?

 

there for your EGR, you have a 22R right? you should be able to pinch the tubes off, and when you get your header it should have block off plates that come with it, also they might sell the block off plates for the EGR tubes that go to your intake manifold if you dont want to just pinch the tubes off...hope this helps
