electric fuel pump conversion

does anyone know how to do an electric fuel pump conversion to work with a weber or redline carb. can you use a pump and regulator out of an EFI model? if not is there a kit available or does any one know what parts from a wrecker will work? i understand that one would need a low pressure/high volume set up of around 3psi.

efi pumps run around 30psi I'm not sure if a regulator would be bad on it or not.

heres everything you need http://www.carburetion.com/Weber/webermisc.asp

fuel pump reply

hey there i dont know if youve done your swap yet or not or what motor you have in there but i got a new block from toyota and had it rebuilt and put it in my 87 runner equiped with fuel injection and i put a weber on her and all ive done was un hook the power to the electric fuel pump at the tank.been working fine for 3 yrs now.Did the same thing in my efi mustand when i installed carburation.Never had a problom. You could also run a t and run it back to the fuel tank.Theres allready a return line on most toys ive seen.Sorry if i intruded any.

When i ran a weber 38 I used an electric pump out of an 85 carbureted nissan pickup. It worked great. flowed more than enough fuel and was very quiet. It also mounts on the frame rail and pulls fuel from tank so you can just hook it up to the rubber line that goes into the fuel filter. I did run a regulator to get the pressure from about 8 to about 3-5 depending on what i was doing. I still have the regulator with a nice little pressure gauge on it. If your interested im asking 50 plus shipping.

I had some problems with my Weber and I put a regular on it and it runs like a champ. I need to get a gauge, but it was set from the factory at 2.5 psi and I have not messed with it.
