Drums and Shoes, brake job

It's time for a rear break job on the 84 4runner. My question is, I hate buying brake stuff that is cheap/crap, so what is recommended for drums and shoes? I hate squeaky/squealy breaks? What's recommended out there or your experiences with these items?

that didn't make a lot of sense. Where should I get a good brake setup. I don't mind spending money on a good setup.

They typically have better prices and will usually have different types of brakes. Drums and rotors I think will be just 1 pick, I can't remember.

I'm confused cause you said to not get cheap ones, are you not referring to the stuff they have at autoparts etc... or will they have a better quality setup also? I just don't wanna buy this stuff and have it be crap and squeal and Sh**.

I have purchased ceramic bakes for my LS front, rear, front rotors and they don't give me an issue from Advanced Auto. They will have what you want call them and ask. I'm sure most places will have 1 kind of rotor/drum maybe 2. But they should have metallic, semi-metallic, possibly ceramic for the truck. We have no idea where you are from so we don't know what's around.

your area for auto part stores and start calling...

I read on here that rear shoes/drums from the dealer are best. The point was that they last the longest. I have dealer shoes and have not have a problem. I can almost stop with just the e brake If I were you, wanted the good stuff, I'd get the Toyota shoes/drums for this. You'll have second thoughts if you go to the auto parts store.
