Drag Link

I went to rebuild the drag link ends on my 85 pickup and the rear end was a pain to get out. I found that internal threads are all boogered up. Does anyone know where I could get a new one? Thanks

check your local parts store. I'm sure moog, ingalls or some other company offer them.

At 1st, I was like, that's a big tap... read, expensive and hard to find...

But then I thought, he already has one

Just cut slots in the threaded thingy part and use it as a tap...

Run it in and out a few times and problem is solved!

It'll only cost you one of those round regular slotted thingies...

I had to buy a chisel to get mine out.

It had a hex body and I just used a socket on it. Put the ratchet on the socket and used it like a screw driver to get it out.

Just post a wanted ad for one.
People are probably throwing their's away when they go to cross-over or dropped drag links.
I'll look and see if I still have mine.

oh wait... The thingy comes with...

It's the thing all the way on the right, in this image. Just cut slots straight through the threads, just like a tap, and it'll work... Trust me, I have a garage full of bolt/taps/thread chasers

But if you get a rebuild kit, get the made in Japan Moog one at O'Riley's

$50. P# ES3139 http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/de...word=drag+link

I have 1 complete stock draglink and another without the plugs(I think the inside pieces are still there though.
You can have them if you cover shipping + $2 for packaging.
