Doing a cab swap....Need advice
I'm new here and just started a new project. It's a 1985 xtra cab, 5spd, 22re, which has been rolled over. I have a donor cab, also an '85, however, it was from a 2wd, automatic, 22r (carb). I need advice on anything and everything. How should I modify the floor for both shifters? Cut the floor and weld the section from the original cab? Also, what about all the miscillaneous like mounting different air box (fuel injection vs carb), mounting the clutch master cylinder, computer wire harness though firewall, etc. Any information on this project will be greatly appreciated.

-I think your thoughts on the tunnel for the shifter is on track.
-all the mounting holes/inserts should be there for both carb and EFI.
-I would recommend taking ton pictures of the engine compartments before you do anything and than label everything
found this quote on Pirate, might help you out:
this link: http://ncttora.com/fsm/index.html has a 58MB down load for an '85 FSM. you should be able to find the wiring diagram there.
Good luck! I am looking for an extra cab for my truck to have just in case...don't think my wife will go for it, but if the price is right
i am sure you have a safer way of removing your cab:

As for advise on your swap. Take your time.... The physical swapping of the cabs was pretty easy. The front 4 cab mounts like right up, and the rear two need to be scavenged from the 02 frame, Same for the front two bed mounts. Make sure you keep the bolts from the 02 cab, because the rear most are longer than your Extra Cab.
Get copies of Wiring manuals then map out the wiring changes...
Label everything!!! Nuts, bolts, brackets. Take lots of pictures for reassembly.
Here are some in-progress pics of mine durring the swap.

That was not my method! I found that on another forum and thought it was kind of, well entertaining
Personally I have never done a cab swap...but my dad's tractor and bucket has make a few VW bug body swaps, and toyota bed swaps much easier over the years
