My 85 pickup does not have any. And I don't even see any wiring leading to the rear bumper area.

Not sure if the previous owner just ripped all the wiring out or if license plate lights never came standard.

Anyone know?

Yes.

It was a legal requirement.

There should be two license plate lights mounted just under the tailgate under the bed.

Do you have an aftermarket bumper?

Yeah, I see the holes where the lights would normally fit into, but the lights themselves are gone. Plus there is no wiring going to the area where the lights would be.

And no bumper currently.

I have a 91 but do you have any wires cut or tucked somewhere possibly by the rear light wiring?

None at all. It's really weird. I checked under the whole bed, and couldn't find any wiring.

The previous owner used the truck for rock crawling, so maybe the wiring was getting mucked up with mud and dirt, so maybe he just ripped it all out.
