CSF 2314 on an 85 Pickup?

Has anyone installed a CSF 2314 radiator on their 85? This article on roundforge states the 2314 is a drop-in fit for 84-95 4Runners and 86-95 pickups and that pre-84 has some hardware differences. So what about the 85?

As far as we can tell, a 2314 will bolt in without modification to 1984-1995 4Runners and 1986-1995 Toyota pickups. That said, this should also be a near bolt-in Toyota Hilux radiator for earlier, pre-1984 trucks. The biggest issue you may have is that some hardware may be different. Early trucks use 12mmx1.25M hardware to hold the fan shroud. The CSF 2314 will come with 10mmx1.0M nuts welded to the engine side of the radiator. In other words, be sure to have some 10mmx1.0M bolts around just in case. 30mm long ought to do it.

Probably just a mistake. I'd order it and figure it out. You can make it work. I put a 2314 in a 1980, no problem.

The 2314 fit my 4wd 85 PU. The 2306 is 1" taller. I've never gotten a straight answer whether that one fits the '85, or only 86 and up. Pretty sure the shroud at least is different.

i wonder how the radiator mounts on an '85 pickup would be different than '86 pickup? weird

it's also a question of fitting the fan shroud, as midnight mentioned, follow the links: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...review-311659/

keep us posted how it goes.

Need to Meassure Core Height

Core Height is the only difference between 2306 and 2314. The latter is shorter. Need to measure your core height AND the shroud to see hoe either would fit.
I think trucks may have different radiators depending on trim and options. According to previous owner, my 1986 has a "Tow Option" . Sorry , I don't know exactly what it means, except hat mine takes 2306.
Here's my write-up on that:

Thanks for the responses. I can confirm the 2314 bolted on without issue and fit the shroud of my 85. Hardware was the same as well, stock 12mm bolts to the radiator, 10mm to the shroud.
