Clutch Upgrade?
#1
So I'm pretty sure my 85 pick-up needs a new clutch. The only thing I'm wondering if I should just get a basic clutch kit from a local auto parts shop, or pay a few extra bucks to get a higher quality one. My truck currently isn't anything that special and most of the wheeling I'll be doing will be mudding so I was wondering what my fellow YotaTechers thought about the situation?
And If I should upgrade what kit should I get and from where, And If any fellow canadians have experience what would be the most cost effective way to purchace it and have it shipped?

From your description of your truck's use, I think you would be fine with a clutch from an auto parts store. Make sure you also change the pilot and throw out bearings.
If you want to upgrade (after all you have to pay for labor either way unless you're doing it yourself), then I have been very happy with LC Engineering's Pro Street clutch, two times OEM holding power and little or no extra pedal resistance. Be careful with some of the very expensive ceramic clutches, they have no "featherability" in them and are either engaged or not with no in between; impossible to drive on the street.

This kit comes with everything you need including the bearings.
