clutch problems.......

specs:
84 4x4 22r. 240K miles.

this weekend decided to break it down and get some done finally.
replaced rear axle bearing and seal (due to leak).
changed oil
changed fuel pump
fuel filter
went to change clutch... got everything out easy enough, installed new flywheel, pressure plate, clutch plate, pilot bearing, and throwout bearing. everything went back together really easy got everything back on cleaned up and started truck. would not go into gear. any gear.

so at this point i have put a longer plunger in the slave cylinder, and it finally goes into gear ( not happily at that)
i am wondering what is the next part that should be changed so that it works properly? should i do the slave first or the master cylinder?
yes i bled the clutch,
yes the plate is installed as written on the plate (flywheel side to flywheel)
no i am not happy how it is.

any ideas on where to go next. this is my daily driver, I would prefer not to have to take it apart again, and start over. so i am wondering if slave or master is messed up?

Replace the shifter seat and bushing, the original parts are known to wear out and cause shifting problems. You can buy a new shifter seat and bushing from marlin crawler, and its alot better quality part than stock.

i might do that, but i don't see how that would cause the issues i have right now. the clutch is really really low. i basically have to try to push the pedal through the floor to get it into gear, and to shift gears. this is for all gears. i am thinking one of them is bad, not sure which one it is yet. will probably start with the slave cylinder then head to the master.

I agree! Start with slave cylinder first.

oh yea, did i mention the vibration is back?

changed the slave cylinder yesterday, and same issue with the original pushrod in the slave, in the original one i had an extended pushrod in it. so changing the master cyclinder today. if no change will update, and set up a day off work and take it out again, and look it over, see if something is messed up with the fork.

ok so this is where it sits for now. changed the master cylinder and pulled almost a full bottle of fluid it with a vacuum bleeder and woo hoo it works. and the vibration left as well. only thing i have left now is to replace the slave push rod with the original, as it is now way too high.
