Yeah, the antenna is just a temporary thing. Although, I have holes in my top for a Yakima rack, so I might just mount it there once it's time for the top to go back on.

And just since you mentioned the rain, I don't put the top on for an overnight summer rain. I just fold the rear seats down and park uphill the the side of our house.

Antenna install

my antennas are dual 4 ft firestik on ss124a firestik mounts, no springs yet, but im gonna get them soon

the last pic is my truck a'fore i got the antennas on.

i staerted by drilling a hole ( i forget what size though) on the side of the bed. for some reason, one side of the bed was alot less rustier.

here it is mostly all done. tomorrow i have to tune the antennas, but so far so good. terrible picutre quality though lol, ill get some pics during the daylight also, so you can see what they look like.

good question, im not sure, mine go about 20 feet right now. when i tune them tomorrow im hoping to get atleast 5+ hopefully around 10. my buddy has a 4ft one also, hes got out about 25 miles, i think it mostly depends on the terrain.

lol, i like the look too, idk if you ever checked out the 4ft wilson whip but it got a great review and its alot cheaper, but if you like the fiberglass look, do like 1981 yota, go with barjans, half the price, and basically the same thing.

wow 81, great deal, i paid 24 a peice for mine and their only 4ft. and barjans are about the same thing. i wish i knew about them erilier haha. but how do you tune the barjans? do you have to cut them?

idk i never tuned mine the first trip with them my cb crpaed out.

you better put springs on your antennas before you go through the woods my budd broke his cuz he had no spring

heres some antenner pics i told ya i would get.i tuned them today, and im lovin the range, they pickup good also, ive never used a mobile ant. that was so good before, and not to mention they look good too. A++ i recommend these antennas to anyone.

i dont know, ive been lookin around on ebay fer some cheap ones. ive been stayin from the trails so far, but theres a few low branches around the farm the i go really really slow under, the antennas give good when they need too, but better safe then sorry!!

do you think barjan springs would fit??
