i use mine to talk to truckers. they love it when a four wheeler (any vehicle with 4 wheels) comes on the cb to let them know what traffic is up ahead, if there's a slow driver in the right lane, or just to let them know they have room to safely merge. at least the ones i've talked to, anyway...

oh ok, those are some pretty good reasons to have one

 

some people also use it as a hobby, one of the reasons i have one is my 3 freinds in town have one, so evernight around 11 we all walk out to our trucks and turn on the cb

CB's are and can be an awsome tool especially when your on a road trip because you can always get on there and see how traffic looks ahead to see if you need to re route. I use mine to talk to a bunch of friends and just shoot the bull with the truck drivers they are alotta fun especially when you got the wattage to get out there.

especially when you can find a set-up for a great deal. i dont mind bragging about mine one bit i bought a Cobra 25 LTD WX Classic for exactly $50 shipped off ebay and picked up a $10 antenna on CL.

 

or you have a setup like the one I have that I mentioned earlier. I've got maybe a 25-30 range when talking to someone that has a standard radio and maybe a 50-75 mile range if someone has a "big radio". If someone is also using a liner (heater) forget it. 100+.

Yeah having it for traffic reports is good too. I forgot about that.

Yup, it's in my Runner. And I'd say to not waste money on a super fancy antenna. A $10 magnet mount antenna works just as effectively for general use.

I had to put the CB above the radio because otherwise I wouldn't be able to hit any of the top gears without smashing the knobs off the CB. And then look on the roof in the second picture. The coax runs down the rain gutter, through the door jam, behind the glove-box, and to the CB.

found a deal on cl, 3 code 3 lp's for $30. since i was gonna spend $30 on 1 lightbar i figured its better too get 3 for the price of 1.ill buff the other 2 up, and try and get like 50 to 100 each
