Built me a center console
My 23 year old center console in my toyota was brittle and falling apart so i made me a new one. I've still got to make the lid for it. I took 4Banger's concept and adjusted it a little. What you think? Edit: Mods i think i put this in the wrong forum. sorry

For the lid i am gonna build another piece to match the top then take some 1/4" plywood and screw it to the top. Then, im just gonna get some foam and wrap it and im thinkin the plywood so i'll have something to staple to on the underside

I added a couple of dimensions b/c the console actually tapers a little toward the back. I had to do this in order to get it it to go b/t the seats.
A: 6 1/8"
B: 8 1/2"
C: 34 1/4"
D: 17"
E: 2 1/2"
F: 7 1/4"
G: 7 1/4"

looks pretty slick, I have been thinking about how we would build one for my sons 87 pu. I think you are on to something here. A few refinements, and you could sell a few.
I rewrapped the arm rest pad in my 85 runner with black pleather that I got at walmart, 1/2 yard for 5 bucks. A small piece of piano hinge from lowes, and a piece of 16ga sheet, some of that pleather and you will have a nice lid/arm rest.
Could even use a little more of that alum diamond plate to make some cool cup holders in that center section.
Good work.

Yea i know, the cupholder section didn't get much thought, it was kinda thought of and thrown together in two nights really. once i got it built i lost interest and have still yet to build a lid for it. i don't really want it anymore, after tryin to ride 3 people i want a 60/40 bench and then i'll build a different setup to fit with the bench seats. Plus, next one i build will be just aluminum sheeting so it will eventually match the door panels i wanna do.
Courtesy of The Wizard's amish agent orange build. i want it to look like this instead of the diamond plate. After the fact, the diamond plate is just a lil too busy
