Bouncing fuel gauge

Can someone suggest a link to fix the bouncing fuel gauge in my '84 22R (originally) equipped pickup? It works fine and is accurate, it just moves with the sloshing fuel in the tank. So when I come to a stop, or hit a bump, the gauge goes up and down. Is this normal?

My pickup is SR5 also, but I'm not sure what the tank size is. I guesstimate 15 or 17 gallons.

It seems as though this bouncing gauge is fairly common, yet I can't find much info in regards to reason or repair.

Yeah, either drop the tank, or remove the bed. I have read that some of the later models have a viscous oil to keep the float itself steady, but I can't find if that's the case with our generation of trucks. If that were the case though, a new sender is inevitable.

I also saw that Summit offers a 19gallon replacement tank for our trucks. And only about 200 bucks. That would be helpful for my long trips...
