Use rear springs on the front. That should move it up a couple inches.

Check out pirate4x4.com for the writeup. Im sure you could even find one here, somewhere.

Look in the Toyota 4Runner forum in the FAQ at the top of the page...or scroll through the pages as the "Rears up front" thread stays pretty active.

We have lift kits etc if you decide to go that route.

Drill new center pin holes in the spring perch. If you drill a new hole 1" farther back on the spring perch then shove the head of the spring center pin into it, the axle is moved forward 1". Or you can use a spring relocation plate if you lack the tools to drill ~5/8" holes in steel:

The way this works is the pressed in center pin goes into the existing hole in the spring perch (to locate it) and the head of the spring's center pin goes into one of the two new holes. The holes are typically set up for 3/4" and 1" offset, so you can pick either offset depending on how you orient the plates. Custom offsets, up to around 1.5" are possible. More info:

Best option is to just redrill the front spring perches, won't add any thickness to the springs, which is the big limiting factor w/ stock steering. Be sure to look at both perches before drilling as one may have existing holes in it. If so, drill a matching hole in the other perch and then drill a new hole in the top spring clamp/bump stop bracket. I did this (3/4" as I recall) in my '85 w/ stock steering.

I already have a set and I just burnt all the skin off my left hand so I was kind of hoping for a bolt on fix since I'm a gimp but if I don't get any positive feed back about it before I am back to full speed I'll definetly give that try and save them for the rear. thanks.

Measure the clearance between the steering J-arm/drag link and the spring u-bolts and if it is more than the thickness of the relocation plates, then put them on.
