Hey guys...
so I took the top off and recently put it back on.
the driver side 2nd bolt from the back has the sensor everyone knows about. What I didn’t know is when you put the top back on you have to remove the cover next to the roll bar and underneath the sensor you have to push up on the piece of plastic to get it back to top on mode.
took about 5 min to do.
and about 2 months of headaches to figure it out

Mine is the 89 SR5
Im sure it’s way different than yours.
its got carpet in the bed/back. The plastic I had to remove is the paneling that covers the speaker along the sides of the back. In order to get to that switch you have to pop off the paneling.
Which kinda sucks cause the roll bar is in the way.
Oh and after I pushed the button on the switch I was reminded like people have said before on this page. Make sure the rear windshield wiper is put back on the shell and not on the window. Cause there’s a sensor there too. It won’t let you roll the window down with the wiper in the down position.
