I have one in mine, but mostly for racing applications or Frankenstein trucks like mine.

4crawler, this fit in your '85? The listing says down to '84 pickups but only down to 86 4runners?

Haven't installed it yet but from everything I can tell it is identical in size/shape to the one that I have in there now.

OK, my aluminum radiator has arrived. I'm gonna put a Taurus fan on it and I've vented my hood.

Now, looking at the radiator, down thru the filler neck, it appears to be a single core radiator? Is that right? I though it was a dual core?

Probably my bad and I'll be putting it regardless. I also see some questionable welds on this unit, I'll take a pic before I put it in.

Considerable lighter than my old radiator, so that's a good thing!

Oh, and how does the tranny cooler work? is it just a little coil in the bottom tank? It must be, I can't see any other way for it to work. That makes me want to not use that cooler and maybe I should install a larger dedicated tranny cooler. I do run the tranny darn hard sometimes (I should start a thread on possible effects of running the tranny fluid level way high to prevent drainage on steep hills).

Ahhh, life is full of questions.

Well, here's the way it's turning out. I wanted to make sure I wouldn't overheat again, so a few months ago, I started the process.

I put louvers in the hood.
I put in this Alum rad.
I need to finish the B&M tranny cooler
I need to finish (don't have it yet) the install of the Taurus fan.

Oh, and I removed the A\C condenser for better air flow to the radiator (my winch still in the way tho, on top of the bumper, bad location).
