Aaaaah

So I needed to replace my radiator. Picked one up today and got to work. I got all the hoses disconnected (drained the radiator of course), got the fan shroud unbolted...those lower bolts are a PITA!!!...then I got the radiator unbolted. Get the new radiator bolted in, the shroud bolted in, then my mom comes out and says "HA HA HA, wouldn't it be funny if the hood wont close?", and I say "Nah it'll work"...AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH...the hood won't close!!!

So after all that I had to take it all apart and I have to go to the parts store again tomorrow to get the right radiator. (They don't have an angry face that says how I am feeling right now).

Oh yeah, on a good note, I got my tires in today and I get my wheels tomorrow.

Brandon

They'll take it back. There wasn't any fluid in it AND if they don't, I'll be pitching a fit until they do since it was their radiator that won't fit. Anyways, I can't make the holes bigger or the radiator will be hanging out the bottom and that won't be good for me...rocks like things that hang down.

They are calling my name and it pains me not to respond. Soon enough though. I am going to be doing it right so that I don't have to do it again.

i just replaced mine with a NAPA one that i got for $126 and its quite a bit smaller then the one that was in there (i suspect the original one).

its both skinnier (single core vs. double?) and shorter. so far i'm running cool w/o any overheating issues but then again... i do live in seattle.

i still don't know if i got the wrong rad (everything bolted up right) or if the replacements are made smaller? either way, once it was in i didn't want to do the job twice.

LOL, I just returned the autozone radiator and picked up that same NAPA one. It is smaller but not a whole lot. Guess we'll see what happens.

Well I got everything in again today, radiator fits great and only ran into one problem today. The bolts for the shroud don't line up with the holes in the radiator on the driver's side. I rigged it to work for now but in the next couple of weeks I am going to replace it with an electric fan to solve my problem with that. I have no leaks, it stays nice and within temp ranges.
