87 4runner transmission whining

hello i'm new to yota tech. i've got an 87 4runner thats been whining from trans when i accelerate. the fluid is good and full.theres no leaks anywhere. i need some help figuring out what it is

bearings inside your tranny...has to be taken apart to be rebuilt. easy to find out by doing a search and marlincrawler.com knows more about trannys as well

could it be the pilot bearing i got the clutch hot and it started slipping so i adjusted it and it doesn't slip anymore but this started. it whines when i give it gas and gets lower when i let off then loud again when i gas it

pull the tranny out. Wiggle the input shaft..
you are looking at pulling the tranny out anyways.
tranny noises don't fix themselves.

im going to assume its a manual trans.

how did you adjust the clutch? if you adjusted it under the dash on the pedal, you may have adjusted it to far causing the release bearing to contact the clutch and spin. you may have a bad release bearing

is the noise only on acceleration? any noise on coast or decel,
any noise with it idling in neutral? if so does the noise change when you press the clutch?

thanks its in the garage right now i'm puttuing on the hydro assist and rear springs i will get back to you in a few days and tell exactly what its doing and when thank you for the help

wasnt the trans whining ti was the pinion bearing my i rotated the rear and wasnt getting enough dope to the pinion so i parked it on a down hill and filled it so lube gets up there whine is gone!!!!!!!!!!!
