85 transmission problem

I put in a new motor and clutch in my 85 pickup and when i put in the clutch fork i was not sure if i put it in correctly. Nom the fork is very loose but when i push it in it gets a little stiffer but the transmission will not go into any of the gears. (It just grinds.) Any thoughts on fixing it. How if the fork suppose to feel?

i had the same problem turned out that the transmision that i had in my 88 4runner was out of an 89 so the throwout bearing was the wrong size. I took the original to the parts store and looked at a bunch of throwout bearings of different years untill i was able to match up the right size

threre is also an adjustmet on the clutch peddel but i dont think that it will help you in this case

good luck, nat
