Wow, it’s been awhile! It is great to be back! After parting out my last 4runner, graduating, getting a real job, etc I finally got another 1st gen 4Runner and so did a friend. I’m here today for him.

He he got a decent deal on a 1985 4runner that was somewhat built but unfortunately it had a moonroof that “blew off in transit” according to the PO. So I’m thinking “hey, that’s no problem.” I jumped on car-part.com and found a nearby factory moonroof. Yay! But wait...it doesn’t fit? But it’s factory!? Looks like his actually has an aftermarket moonroof unless Toyota had two sizes but throughout my semi extensive searching, I haven’t found mention of two different sizes. It looks like his glass would have been roughly 17.5x32.

There are no visible manufacturing marks/logos/anything that can lead me to a source. And all of the moonroof kits I’m finding are 17x32 but that’s the opening and the glass is 16.xx by 31.xx.

I pray upon upon the combined knowledge of the community, please help!

 

Had an old roommate that had an 85 with a aftermarket moon roof. Its out there.
