85 4runner starting prob

85 4runner starting prob

just put the motor in my 4runner (22re) and when i start the truck i have to tap the gas in order for it to fire when its cold... it didnt do it for the first week i had it togather but now all the sudden it has been doing it.... any info would help... im thinking its the cold start injector...

You can try the fuel pump test jumper:

If that does not help, see if the cold start injector is getting power when starting. If not, check the cold start time switch on the front of the intake, under the throttle body.

nothing but problems

doesnt matter now...... motor is kncking, spitting and sputtering..... i dont know what happend....still full of oil so i know thats not causing it... has no power what so ever..... im so screwed..... im beginning to regret getting a toyota... paid $2800 for.... blew head gasket on the 5hr drive home and just put a motor in costing me $2000 (thats including new head)... broke it it proporly and flushed oil.... i have $5000 into a dead horse

your really angry calm down and try to troubleshoot it the right way not on here ranting you will find that these are the absolute best engines for reliability after you get everything ironed out

Well seeing as you have 2000 dollars into the rebuild, take it back to the shop where it was rebuilt and raise hell.

Oh and PS- I assume you corrected the problem that lead to the blown hg
