83 yota swapping a 22rec engine help problems ?

I have a 83 yota with the stock motor it through a bearing I was told. I purchaced a 22rec long block. My question is will this motor work since the old motor was carbuerated and this one came with efi. If it will work what modifications will I have to make in order to get this motor to run properly.Any info would be greatly apppreciated. thank you.

you're going to have several issues, one of which is quite important- your 22r intake manifold lacks a cooling passage or two that the 22re engine has so you may need to locate an 85+ 22r manifold and do some work. you may also have some issues with the exhaust manifold so you may need to source a later exhaust manifold as well.
you'll also need to remove the fuel pump block of plate from the 22re, and install the fuel pump cam from the camshaft on your 22r to the 22re and don't forget to remove the small spacer/washer from the 22re or it'll mess with your distributor.

So those are the only things i will need to change out. The newer intake manifold from the 85 or newer will that still work with the fuel carbeuration and will I have to make a modifications to any of the new parts.

wiring is different as well .. so you'll need the engine harness + the engine computer to run things ... and about 7 wires to "splice" in to the original harness .
+ the EFI wont run on the stock fuel pump .. it only pumps about 7 lbs .. the EFI requires ~ 40 + lbs of fuel pressure .. you will either need to swap in an EFI fuel tank , or use an in-line pump .

.
