I have been searching from site to site, and lots of good setups. My 84 has stock springs all around, there's about 1" from spring to bumpstop.
I am new to the 4x4 world, and my truck is used mainly for a DD, but I do wheel and would like to trail ride, but need some serious improvements.
Just bought a used set of 3" front springs, and am looking for a set of rears, a lot of people have chevies or waggies... but I don't know much about welding, (especially if it is structural..)

My question... finally ... is there a company which sells 3" leaf springs for the rear that don't require spring hanger relocation?

uh ya search on marlin crawler, trail gear, all pro. but they are way expensive, if i were you i would get some chevy springs and the new front hanger from one of the sites i mentioned and find someone who can weld. also read the FAQ on pirate 4x4 for the chevy spring swap, i would post it but pirate isnt working for me right now.

You could try some of the regular off road parts retailers (Downey, 4 Wheel Parts, NWOR, etc.) and find some stock length lift springs. Or call up Alcan and have them make a custom set for you.

yep thats the cheapest and best route, its what im gonna do when i have the time( prolly this summer) at least i hope, im gonne have to rebuild my toy rears because they sag pretty bad.

To install the rears in front, do you need a relocated shackle hanger, or can I use a set of those banana shackles from BudBuilt? I know this will move the front axle forward, but how much?

Not required, I ran a 2" longer than stock front shackle with mine when I first installed them:

You can alos arch the stock springs and get more than plenty of lift, if you are looking for cheap way out and not gonna be wheeling real hard.

Might try topguncustomz.com . I got a 3 in. rought country front and rear springs 4 shocks for just over 400 bucks for a 85 4runner.
