22re swap help

alright so heres the deal i have an 84 toyota and i blew the 22r motor in it. instead of rebuilding that one i bought an 87 toyota with a 22re and i wanna swap it in only thing is is that the 84 is manual and the 87 is auto so i was wondering if i would have to change the computer in order for the manual to work?

you could swap intake and exhaust manifolds, and keep it carbureted .you will have to install the fuel pump lobe on the cam for the fuel pump. and there is a difference in the exhaust manifolds.

if you swap the fuel injection to the 84, you have to use the efi computer, there is one wire that goes to the shifter that need to be splice together for it to start. this wire tells the computer the shifter in park. Its a brown and black wire, i think

Just swap the tranny and transfercase. That is much easier...unless the 84 is in better condition and you like it better?

But yeah, all you need to do is jump the park switch on the auto wiring harness. (I did it myself once!)
