I have an 85 4runner with the 22re. When I bought this truck it had the same poblem as my 89, but I figured you cant beat the desired 85 for $900. My hesitation problem was much like a lot of other ones I read on a few different fourums. If i was on the gas to accelerate or off the gas to engine brake the engine ran fine, but trying to keep a contant speed usually around 3000 rpm's the engine would buck and hesitate. I tested and replaced my tps and I am now able to drive normal and crawl the trails again. Theres also a lot of good info on that site.
