22RE Engine Surging

22RE Engine Surging
I have just had my 22RE rebuilt and got it running today. It idles perfect and I have set the timing to specs with a timing light. When I hit the throttle it surges irratically and I can't seem to figure out what is going on. I took the throttle position sensor off to clean the throttle body before dissassembly and I accidentally pinched a wire from the TPS connector today when I was bolting up a bracket under the intake. I repaired it with a butt connector. My brain is shot! If you have any ideas please let me know.

Test out the TPS both at the TPS connector as at the ECU wiring connection:

Ok, I have power from the ecm connector and the connector is clean (no corrosion). I also forgot to mention that I bead blasted the throttle body with the TPS on there and I taped it up really good so I wouldn't mess it up. I was afraid to take it off. Could that be why it is acting so crazy?
Also I have been pricing new TPS's. I was also wanting to know if an '86 sensor will work on my '85. The part numbers are different but they are exactly the same thing.

Test it and see how it is working and then see if those signals are making their wa back to the ECU. LIkely the later model sensor will work, there was an incompatible change about the time the intakes changed.

I kept messing with it, checked the sensor with an ohmmeter and it checked out OK. It kept surging so I kept adjusting the sensor and finally got it running better. I appreciate your help!
