I was coming up a grade the other day when my truck lost power. It still runs but the second cylinder from the front has 0 compression all others are 120 - 125. It has spark and everything but no compression. I think it may have a stuck exaust valve. What are my options?

 

NOt really too many. Youll have to pull the head

 

Ok i should probably just do all new valve seals and everything huh.

 

If the valve is stuck open, you would have to figure out why 1st. Is your oil pressure good? Has it been run really low on oil or old oil? Either way it sounds like your going to at least need a new valve and guide if it is stuck. If ones bad the others probably arent too far behind.

 

ya it burns oil. It dosent smoke though so i dont know what the dealis. It was very low on oil.

 

If you pop off the valve cover, you could turn it over by hand and see if one of the valves isnt moving, that would be a dead giveaway on what your up against.
