I got a engine for my truck everything is good but went i want it to idle i have to put duct tape over the carb but then i timed it runs good but has no power when i step on the gas it doesnt even rev higher but if i take the tape off the rpms shoot up . Is it a problem with my intake or carb?

 

Any Ideas?

 

carb the flap is not closing from the sound of it, maybe the return spring!

you may want to adjust the valves as well!
