22R exhaust manifold question

My 85 truck with it's second motor needs new exhaust manifold gasket. Not a big deal but these pipes coming through the manifold make much more labor. What are these things? Part of the cooling system?
Thanks for any info.
Dan

Those pipes are part of the Air Suction system for the exhaust.

It introduces air into the exhaust to help the catalytic converter work more efficiently and that reduces HC and CO emissions.

It looks like you are missing the clips that keep your ignition wires away from the exhaust. Those bolt onto the valve cover.

Thanks much!
This truck had no catalytic convertor on it when I got it. Looking closer I see the end of the pipe appears to be blocked off. I could probably remove all that stuff but have to plug off the holes in the manifold somehow.

There are several exhaust manifold gasket kits on the market that also include the gaskets for the air injection pipe flanges. LCE sells an air injection tube block-off plate kit: https://www.lceperformance.com/TG-Ai...-p/2051518.htm
They also sell EGR block-off plates.

Finally got all the parts and the time to take this on. EGR delete not so bad and wished I had done it sooner. Watched several videos and surprised to see so many EGR configurations on the 22R. Mine required the 2 plates on the exhaust manifold and the one triangular block off plate on the other side. Some of the bolts a bit tricky to get to but could have been worse.
So much stuff came off---
