So my 84 4runner is reving to redline as soon as i start it so i have to kill it. I has been running fine this just happened out of the blue. i had the carb rebuilt less than a year ago so im not sure what it could be? i tried searching for this problem couldn't seem to find anything on it.

 

Check the cold idle

 

got it fixed thanks carb was stuck should have checked that first just figured since it was rebuilt fairly recently that it couldn' be that.
