22r build questions (Daily driver, weekend warrior)

Okay so i just recently bought a 1984 extra cab 4x4 yota, i intend on making it a daily driver but also a wheeler on weekends but not really a serious wheeler just one to mess around with, anyways i was just going to tell you my build plan and then let you guys help me with it, the engine is a 22r, tranny is a 5-speed manual, okay right now the truck is completely stock so im planing on re building the engine and head, i plan on using the Engnbldr rebuild kit with there dom top pistons .20 over, then for the head the Engnbldr 261 crawler cam and a Lc adjustable cam gear, im also going to get a cheap header and then a 2" header back exhaust with out cat and a cheap thrush welded muffler, throw on a weber 32/36 carb re gear to 4.88 and put some 33/1250/15 Yokohama Geolander MTs on a 15x10 aluminum wheel, also a 2" body lift and a 4" all leaf lift, i would like to know what you guys think the mpg would end up being and if it would go 55-70 mph with out high rpms and if the build sounds ok for a dd/weekend warrior. thanks

sounds Great honestly...a little too much lift for the tires...37's would look better than 33s..lmao

mileage should be 18-20+mpg depending on how well you tune the motor and how good of a driver you are.

i say go 2.25full exhaust with a high flow cat...i've heard it takes some of the smell outta the exhaust, and i hate exhaust fumes, to each their own though.

Sounds like you're DEFINITELY on the right track!!!!!!!

33s will be way too small with that lift.

Everything else sounds ok.

Loose the 2" body lift. Keep the 4" springs and 33" maybe even 35's will fit.

There is a MPG thread here you might wanna tread through as well. It might give you an idea.

I have 35x12.5 and a 4" susp + 2" body lift and it looks alright but when I put on some 33" it looked a little funny... like it needed to lose the 2" body lift for sure.

I plan on doing a very similar setup. But I planned on 3" lift, 2" body lift, and 33" tires. That sound right?

Ok. What if I got this SAS from All Pro and evened out the rear suspension with it. I don't really want 35" tires..

To the OP; I have the Engnbldr street RV head with the 268 cam. My power band will go to around 5k RPM and is a perfect match for the setup I am going to build. I am going to swap the Duals, 4.88s with lockers, and do an RUF setup with my old Hy-steer and IFS box and Chevy 63s in the rear with Bilstein shocks all around. I already have the parts, I just have to pull them from my old rig that got destroyed except for the chevs. I am going to be using a good, used 22r short block with about 150k (just broken in by 22r standards ) and put my EngnBldr setup on top with new headbolts, gaskets and timing set that are also from him. Goodyear MTR 33x16x12.50 on on my personal X-mas list. This setup will be driven daily to and from School 45 miles away, in San Francisco, wheeling trips, maybe Rubicon, definitely in the snow and everywhere else.

I like your idea, you can build a good engine on the cheap because of Engnbldr, just spec every part you get (static balance especially of pistons) and pay great attention to machine work you have done (spend more here and your engine will last FOREVER.) I would try to find a used set of Tri-Y headers to maintain that crucial back pressure that gives you bottom end, would stay away from Webers because they can't do angles unless you like JB weld and gas everywhere. Just take your time and go the extra mile on machine work and balancing.
