22R to 22RE

Can this be done I have found one rather cheap, also does anyone have an idea what it would cost to have the 22RE rebuilt

yes, it can be done. Easiest way is to find a donor vehicle since you will need Fuel tank, pump, lines, intake, computer, wiring, and a few other parts. Its an easy swap if you have a donor truck.

you can use an inline fuel pump with your exsisting tank.... check with walbro.

A quality rebuild on the 22r / 22re will run you about $800 with machine work.
Some places a little cheaper, some places a little more.. Thats ballpark total cost of rebuild.

I just finished a 22R to 22RE swap with a rebuilt shortblock. In all reality, it was fairly straight forward. Time consuming but worth it in the end. Having a donor truck made a world of difference. I bought my 85 donor for $375, took everything I needed including the W56 tranny and top shift case and replaced them with my carb'ed G52 and forward shift case. I just sold my donor for $400

I got EFI for free
