1985 4Runner New to Me

I have been searching for about a year for an older Toyota, and finally one came up for sale in the city where I am attending school. It didn't take long for me to make a decision on whether to buy it or not. However it was expensive for me considering the year and the mileage, but finding a Toyota in Atlantic Canada in this condition is rare. After driving the truck for the past two weeks several things came to my attention, these were: the power of the motor and how it handles on the highway, both made me grin. According to the dealer an older gentlemen purchased the truck in 1987, drove it up until 4 years ago. In the past 4 years it sat in his garage only coming out to be inspected and undercoated [sprayed with waste oil...]. The dealer I bought it from was trying to get his hands on the truck for several years but the old fellow wouldn't sell it, finally he gave in and sold it because he didn't drive it anymore. After a month and a 1000 dollar price drop I went and picked it up. Maybe the dealer was just messing with me, but he thanked me for purchasing it because he wanted to build it up and drive it into the ground. My future plans for this truck are simple; I enjoy hunting, fishing, and just being outdoors, so I need something that will get me where the game and fish are. I am not looking to make a rock crawler or mud monster, [not saying there is anything wrong with that] I would like to make it look more "aggressive", locker in the rear, bumpers, engine "stuff", and I would say new leafs and shocks, etc... Any thoughts or ideas from this seemingly endless wealth of knowledge which is this site would be great. I will post some more pictures if there are any requests, thanks for taking a look.
P.S. My previous trucks were: 1994 F150 4x4, and a 1997 S10 4x4.....enough said.

Nice find, especially where you live! Well, you came to the right place to find info on building it into whatever you want it to be. Be ready to be broke for a long time!! There is always something...... I am looking for gears and hopefully an exhaust system.

Please continue to undercoat that, it will thank you in a few years for having a good owner. Rust is its number one enemy. I love stock Toyota trucks ahah. So that has the 22RE right?

Interior is filthy as compared to when I bought it, thats what a few duck and bunny hunts will do. I forgot to mention the odometer is reading 230000 kms, or 143750 miles.
