1983 bed on a 1985

hey everyone i planned on replacing my 1985short bed with a fiberglass bed. i found a steal on a 1983 fiber bed. will it line up? has anyone done it and if so pictures available? thanks alot

my 83 has a bed from an 85+. Bolts right up. Have to run a new gas tank hose is all.

Well the bodylines are totally different, so it might not look right at all

the mid line is in the same spot height wise. just different shape right??

my bed is also like half inch wider then the cab in places. And don't forget 1st gens have fender flares.

The frame on the 79-85 trucks are all the same. Not sure abou tthe bed and cab mounts lining up though...maybe?
