So the previous owner installed a new set of speakers a little too close to the window cranks. As a result the crank handle would catch on the speaker, so he decided to take the handles off. It looks like this:
I've been making due with a pair of pliers for the summer months, but I'd like to get some kind of handle on there soon. Has anyone encountered something like this before? Or have any suggestions on a handle alternative? Need a little inspiration here as I'm not sure how best to "handle" it. Thanks in advance guys.
10mm sounds about right (I put a small tape measure in front), I do need to pick up a caliper, but until then does anyone know for sure the diameter of the crank, or the size of handle? Is 10mm right?
Remove the speaker grille,
Mount speaker behind the door panel,
Find 1/16" or 1/8" thick circular metal ring OR perforated disc. same diameter as speaker grill, or take off the speakers grille mesh, flatten it and cover circumference with black electrical tape . Wrap that with stretchy grill cloth.
Install that instead of the thick speaker grill.
Find stock Toyota door handle at junkyard.
