wheels

does anyone know which factory 15 inch wheels will fit the 79-83 bodystyle 4WD? It seems through my research that these trucks use a weird offest becuase of the brakes and the 84 and up wheels won't work without spacers. I really don't want to use spacers. I've read that at 15x7 wheel should have about 3.75 in backspace at the minimum. is that about right? most of the simple black 'rockcrawler' wheels have 4in or more backspace. I want to use factory toyota wheels if possible, if not i'll go the black wheel route.
also, these are the wheels i have, 3 of them, one got busted. are these stock wheels, they seem to be magnesium wheels..and does anyone know where i could get one or two more?

thanks

the black steelies on 4wheelparts.com, the rockcrawlers, have 3.75 backspacing like the series 51 (my favorites also the ones im getting whenever i can)..now crager soft 8's...they have 4in backspacing...so dont go that route..im not sure about which stock wheels will work with our 1st gens though...never really thought about it since i have aftermarket wheels

I remember reading somewhere that you can only use 1st gen wheels, but might be wrong. I have the black ones from 4wheelparts.com and love them.

i've read the same thing about only being able to use 79-83 wheels. i'd love to get a set of those to keep the factory look but are hard to find. i guess it's the 4WP black ones.

thanks

I have these on mine:

Seem to be a common wheel around here, they are 15x8.. I have no clue what they are from, or if they are after market or a chev/toyota/nissan/mazda OEM rim, no idea.. heres what my truck had before:

I dont think they are factory, Im pretty sure they are from an FJ40, they are 15x6 as far as I know, maybe 15x7?

They didnt just come on first gens; the factory chrome wheels on my 84 SR5 are the same. I think it is more of a solid axle vs IFS backspacing issue because I have seen these on FJ40s too.

back on the topic of wheels....i will be adding the IFS calipers and rotors to my 81 and I need to know if the 3.75in. backspacing will still work, or do I need to get some 2.5 or 2 in. backspaced wheels to clear everything. I will be using 15x7 wheels and 33x10.5x15 tires.
thanks
