Wheel size, HELP!

This topic has probably been discussed already but I'm going to ask anyways. I just picked up a 82 Toyota Pickup 4x4 with stock suspension and it really needs a new set of tires and wheels, PO threw 3 16 inch and a 15 inch wheel on it. My question to y'all is, should I go with 15x8 or 15x10? Can you guys post a pic of you're ride with the size tires and wheels specs? Would really appreciate it!!

Thanks!

Stock is 15 inch, dont know width except 225-15 is perfect replacement to original imo, I use the larger 235 as there a bit better ride and easy to find. Not many vehicles used the 225 but can be ordered.
Doubt you care about original but put it in anyway. When I went to the 235's it did slow down more in 5'th going up a long grade like the grapevine and sometimes have to shift to 4th where I didn't before but can live with it for the few times a year going up steep hills.

My 15" wheels are 5.5" but think they came in 6" also. I do need a stock 6 lug 15x5.5" wheel or 2 if anyones close within 75 miles of LA?

PS. Tire pressure; I use 29-35psi rear depending on load and no more than 24-26psi front cause of solid axle. Others will disagree depending on tire size perhaps

I think you mean 225, not 255. I have 235 on original SFA steelies and they bulge about as much as I'd be comfortable with; I already expect to see a little more centerline than edge wear in normal pavement use. SFA steelies are either 5.5 or 6 inches wide. Later IFS steelies are 6".

What size wheel you should use depends on what width tire you want. 15x8 is appropriate for 235-275mm (about 9-11 inches) wide treads. 15x10 for 265 (10.5) and up. If you want tires bigger than 30" diameter but not wider than 9", you pretty much have to increase rim size to 16 or 17; nobody makes any 235/85R15 (but they do make 235/85R16). I've looked pretty hard.

big questions is what do you plan to do with the truck?
do you want to have a daily driver?
Do you want to run trails?

I have run 31x10.50's and 33x12.50s on an 8" wide rim with out any issues.
If you go much taller than a 31 you get into having to consider swapping out gears
