weber with a sync link

anyone running a weber with a sync link???? the truck i recently rescued from the PO had one installed but at first i was having trouble with the truck so i reinstalled the stock linkage back on the carb. come to find out i had a blown head gasket that was letting water into my #2 cylinder and making it miss and all kinds of other problems. so now i have it all back together and running smooth again just wanted to see if anyone else was running it and if it is something i should put back on or just leave off. Thanks for any feedback.

I was...where are you at? I hope it wasn't my old rig you had to rescue!

Edit: Nevermind, I saw your other thread and yours is an '80. Not sure my setup would be best sizing for your 20r, but even at higher elevations that I drove at I needed to go larger on the jets. Also, in your other thread it stated you still had the stock jetting in the carb, except for the pump jet, even with the sync link installed. That can cause some funny issues, too. Even with the different sized barrels, it's recommended to match your idle jets, since the secondary is no longer a secondary! You can see my final jet list in that thread with the sync link installed, and the guy I sold it to took the truck down to the LA area and told me a couple weeks later that it was still running great down there, even with the jets I had run at 4,000-9,000' elevation.

got it running really good tonight no more breaking up i ended up going to one of my buddies that did a motor swap and getting the ignition module from his 22r hooked it to my 20r and a little timing adjustment and she runs like a top i still have a slight hesitation when i slam it to the floor but it quickly catches up and turns right up with no missing or backfiring.
