Transmission help!
#1
1982 toyota pickup 4wd. Symptoms: have to force it into 1st from a roll won't go in gear from a stop grinds into second. Third and fourth are fine. Jolts into reverse and when I put the clutch in while in reverse it shudders really bad. I thought it was the clutch so I put a new one in today but no help. symptoms are all still there what's the next culprit? Could this possibly be the input shaft bearing? I know they like to fail on these trucks? Do I need a new tranny? If so does anyone have a donor tranny from an 82 22r I'm flat broke. I tried putting a want ad in the classifieds but I use the mobile Yota tech app on my iPhone and it wouldn't let me for some reason. Any help will be appreciated!

Before you do anything too major, I would try bleeding the clutch line first. Sounds like the clutch may be partially engaging. If that doesn't help then it may be syncros and you may be looking at a rebuilt. Doesn't sound like input shaft bearing symptoms. How many miles are on the truck?

We'll the transmission just blew up so I guess I have to get a new one. Sadly I'm broke so I'm probably looking at selling the truck for cheap and getting something else that runs proper. Hopefully another Yota
