to get it out far enough to get it off of the dowl pins i had to use hammer and chisel drove in between the tranny and block and a crow bar
so now i can turn the tranny but still cant get it to come back any father
i did take the transfer case off to limit the weight so i could wrestle with it anybody got any ideas how to get it the rest of the way off

It's not just hanging there is it? If it is you have ruined the clutch and could damage the input shaft. You need to have the tranny supported on a jack and make sure that the trans and motor are at the same level. If it is still hard to slide out of the clutch then, just pry it on out or get a come along and hook it to the rear axle and the tranny and pull it out. This could be dangerous so don't be under the driveline when you do this and don't be behind the tranny either. When it comes free it could hurt you if the cable is under tension.

Be VERY careful, when it lets go, there's no telling where it will go if there is a lot of tension on the cable.

Can you get it back far enough to get to the pressure plate bolts? if so take them loose sounds like the pilot bearing is hung on the input shaft.

Taking the pressure plate bolts loose wouldn't have anything to do with the pilot bearing, it is in the end of the crank. If it were stuck in the clutch this would work but probably easier to get it out of the clutch like this than on the bench. If he got it back far enough that it is off the dowel pins and able to spin around then it should be out of the pilot bearing anyway.
