Looks like it could be a decent trail rig, I would offer $800 if it had paperwork. I refuse to deal without paperwork, even if its a trailer king.

Yeah, thats my whole deal. Even if you have no intentions of trying to get it streetable, without paperwork you don't know its past or how legit it is or isn't.

If you decide to do it, i'd either have him type up a good bill of sale, or type one yourself. Make sure it includes the vin number, miles all that good stuff. Of course make sure both parties sign it and bring along a second person with you and have them sign as well, as a witness. He may not have "paperwork" as in title or registration, but at least if you buy it from him and it comes up as stolen, you have something to somewhat cover your a$%. Just my opinion.

I (his signature) agree that I am selling this 1982 Toyota Pick-Up on (whatever the date is) to my signature for the price of $800 cash. I confirm that (my buddys signature) is a valid witness to this transaction.

the underlined part didnt paste but the ssignatures are underlined and the date and price.
me and a buddy are takin his big ford diesel and flatbed a trailor down cuz theres no wya my yota could haul it lol.

O man! now the truth comes out lol. in my last email i said so the ONLY thing wrong is the header? and heres what i got for a reply...
it has no power steering and is runnoing 35s so its kinda hard to steer. the front drive line should be extened for hardcore wheeling cause the spines are barely barely showing. i have no paper work or anything on the truck. and the battery needs replacement cause when i was installing the wintch i was testing it and ran the batterey dead and now it has a hard time holding a charge we do have a spare steer gear box and i radiator. the transfer case has a small leak from the seal that the driveline hooks to. and the front passanger window is cracked on the cornner from flopping over on its side

If all there is wrong is a header leak thats simple. 22 series engines get pretty hot and can warp the manifolds/headers so they dont sit right. This can be fixed by simply resurfacing the header and puting a new gasket on there. Or if the PO didnt locktight the bolts when he put the header on then it coulda lost a few bolts, and it would sound really loud at first but once the metal/gasket swell from the heat then it seals. I agree with above. Get as much proof of purchase with as many witnesses and signatures as possible.

hahha i posted too late

id take it for 800. good build platform, and you wont have to ruin your DD. Id check it out first though, sounds sketchy

Why don't you ask for the VIN right away and have the cops check it to see if it's stolen?

Looks pretty good, I would print the names in the paragraph and do lines underneath the paragraph for signatures, and put the vin after the 1982 Pickup. I've sold dirt bikes and a couple trucks and this is what i've always done, even though the trucks had titles.

Worst he can say is no, but if he is willing to drop more than half his original asking price I would have to say there is definately something fishy about that.
