Anyone looking for a Topper for the older Toyotas usually know what a pain it is trying to find one. What topper do you use for your bed? List truck bed and yr and topper.

I own an aluminum topper for my 83 LB. I'm not sure the brand, but I know it wasn't build for mine. I wish they made new fiberglass toppers that fit.

 

83 shortbed. My topper fits all other Toyotas, basically....except mine. Bought it off a '78 2wd shortbed that it fit perfectly. About 2" too long for my bed. I know it would fit a 84-95 just fine. It's aluminum. Not sure of the brand. I cut the 2" out and put it back together. Now it fits great!

 

If you are looking at new shells A.R.E makes a basic shell for our trucks, it runs about $1000 although. I think that's what I will do eventually. Right now, my bed is topperless.

I like the fiberglass topper you have, especially with the raised section.

I checked out the ARE toppers and they didn't list having anything for pre 84 Toy's. You know something I don't?

 

89's are EASY to find toppers for. Pre-84 section here...these trucks are not easy to find toppers for.

 

mine has what appears to be a period correct gemtop on it

 

A couple months ago I called a local ARE dealer and they said they make 1 style for a '83 longbed, I didn't double check elsewhere, it sounded like it was a custom order kind of deal although.
