Tilt Steering???

I have a 82 Toyota standard cab 4x4. I replaced the bench seat with civic buckets and would like to swap in tilt steering. Was tilt an option in 82? If not what years did? Has anyone done this swap?
Thanks

If I install a tilt will it allow the stering wheel to raise further than my non-tilt? Or does it just allow it to drop? I do not need it to drop I am trying to get more room in the drivers seat.
Thank you in advance

Where are you located? Would I be able to use my wire harness?

i did the swap to my 82 i used to off road before the frame snapped.

they do tilt up some over the non tilt column.

they usually have delay wipers in the tilt columns so you will need a relay under the dash by the glove box. the plug has 4 blue wires with a peice attached to it with a wire connecting 2 spote so your wipers cancel out (go to bottom of windsheild) unplug that piece and plug in the relay and your set

the wiring is no big deal just swap out your combo switch but the tilt ones have longer wires. a non tilt one will want to unplug when you move the column far up or down
