Throttle linkage repair

On my '81 and this may apply to others in the 79-82 range, I was having the throttle sticking at times. I checked the cable, and lubed it but didn't fix the problem. So tore the quadrant done that mounted on the engine.

I found that the two nylon bushing on both sides of the linkage was worn and the linkage was binding at times, even with return spring tension.

One the bushing holes on the bracket was worn oversize as compared to the other side, So drilled the smaller side to match the larger.

Went to hardware store and found a bushing that was .470 OD and .320 ID. Cut 2 pieces to .300 in length and installed.

Put everything back together and it smooth sailing now. Hope this might help someone in the future as these parts are non-existent.

Excellent write up and repair work. I made the same repair with bronze bushings.
